When you enter into a contract with JORC Logistics, we manage your project to the finish line, even when there are issues and claims. Resolving problems is vital to our high level of dedication and we will act as your advocate to ensure we maintain a business relationship based on trust.

If your freight were damaged or lost during transit, a freight claim may be your only course of action. First, contact the shipper and inform them that the shipment has not arrived, or was damaged. When there is visible damage, be as precise and detailed as possible, and only sign the Bill of Lading after the damage has been noted. Take photos of the damage and provide the driver with a copy of the Bill of Lading.

Be aware that you cannot make a damage claim after signing a Bill of Lading without noting damages.

Your resource to resolving your freight claim

It may take a few weeks to a few months to resolve your claim, depending on the nature of the situation. The sooner you file the claim and let us know, the sooner we can help, and the sooner it can be resolved. Fling a freight claim is relatively straightforward, but you will need to provide the following documentation:

  • Purchase invoice

  • Proof of delivery payment

  • Bill of Lading

  • Repair (or replacement) estimates

  • Photos of damaged freight

You can also ask our team to help facilitate communication with insurance companies and other involved parties. If the carrier’s insurance were to fall short, our insurance may cover the difference.
